'The Empty Classroom‘ – drama work based on Peter Brook’s approach of directing
Tutor: Nicole Küpfer, lic. phil. I, PG Cert., PG Dip. drama in education (UCE Birmingham)

Drama strategies applied to language teaching help students explore a text, novel or topic through physical activity. By creating natural communicative situations, newly-acquired linguistic skills can be applied in a stress-free environment. Through their creative input, the students take over responsibility for their own and the group’s learning process.
In our workshop, I will make you familiar with the work I carried out for my dissertation on Peter Brook. We will create modernised versions of fairy tales and perform them with a minimal effort concerning costumes and props. The artistic effect will be intensified with the use of simple instruments to accompany the performed scenes.
